Our 14.ai weekly newsletter gets absurdly high open rates, and I have a few theories:
We don't write like a brand. We love our brand, but avoid plain slop soulless text like the plague. AI can't match genuine chaos of real humans. Sometimes I want to write run on sentences or TYPE IN ALL CAPS, so I do.
Be consistent. People say "Newsletter every Monday!" then stop after two weeks because their dog went on vacation. Like anything, people love habits - if your newsletter becomes part of someone's Sunday coffee ritual, you’ve won.
Ask questions that don't have answers. Start debates no one can win. Invite people to events they’re nervous to attend, but will regret missing.
Just don't type AT people. Write like you're in conversation.
