What’s a Y Combinator interview really like?

Ours was fast. High energy. Unforgettable. We didn’t rehearse. Just read the YC interview guide and hit “join call”.

I remember feeling a mix of nerves and excitement, mostly wondering which partners would be interviewing us.

It turned out to be Tom Blomfield and Tyler Bosmeny. From the first question, the conversation moved quickly, ten intense minutes of back-and-forth. But there was a great energy throughout, and we walked away feeling inspired.

Don't be scared, just do it.

What surprised me most was how something so short could feel so defining.

Since then, Tom and Tyler have been our group partners. That YC interview was the beginning of a really special relationship, one that started on a ten-minute Zoom and turned into a once-in-a-lifetime journey.
