When I built my first company, we hired an army of highly talented software engineers.
Now it’s just me, the founding team, and an army of AI agents.
And we’re shipping faster, and better.
Here’s the stack:
Grok, Claude, ChatGPT: sparring partners. I meta-prompt them to analyze docs and repos on the web, map architecture, understand edge cases, and stress-test ideas before a single line is written.
Claude Code: My main developer. It scaffolds, writes tests, and builds full-stack frontend, backend, databases in minutes, not weeks.
Cursor: My editor. Fast tab completions, design tweaks, final touches. Keeps me in flow.
Effect: The code foundation. Strongly typed, observable, verbose. AI writes reliable and clear code because the structure enforces it.
Git: My safety net. I commit obsessively, constantly inspect diffs, and rewind if needed.
We’re building durable software, at a fraction of the cost - and having a lot more fun doing it.
The era of “armies of engineers” isn’t gone. But the era of AI-augmented builders is definitely there.
As a software engineer, I love it.
